2008 Irvine mayoral election
The 2010 Irvine mayoral election was held on November 4, 2008 to elect the mayor of Irvine, California. It saw the election of Sukhee Kang, who became the first Korean American mayor of a major United States city. He defeated former mayor Christina L. Shea.
