Tino Chrupalla

Tino Chrupalla (born 14 April 1975) is a German politician, and Member of the Bundestag since 2017[1] of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party. In November 2019 he was nominated by Alexander Gauland to replace him as co-chairman and duly elected to that position.[2]

Life and politics

Chrupalla was born 1975 in Weißwasser[1] in eastern Germany and passed his Meister exam (Meisterprüfung) as House painter and decorator in 2003.[1][3]

Chrupalla entered the AfD in 2015[1] and defeated the later Minister-President of Saxony Michael Kretschmer in the electoral ward of Görlitz [ de ] in the 2017 German federal election.[4]

He is one of five vice-chief whips of the AfD federal parliamentary group.[5]
