History
Football in Subiaco dates back to 1909 when the club established its base at a small playing area within the environs of the Shenton Park Lake. The club wears maroon, white and gold,[2] the traditional colours of Subiaco and those of A.S. Roma, the Serie A team closest to the Italian city of Subiaco.[3]
Subiaco City was founded in 1909 and Subiaco United in 1984. In 1989, the senior members of the club moved to Balcatta and changed their name to Subiaco Stirling. In 1992 the seniors moved again to Balga and formed Balga West Coast before folding in 1993. Subiaco United formed as an amateur senior club in 1984 at Rosalie Park. The current club was formed in 2009 after these two clubs merged.
In 2013, Subiaco were granted an NPL licence, through a combination of the Junior and Senior Clubs, who have subsequently merged to become Subiaco AFC (Subiaco City Junior Soccer Club).
