In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Lacadena No. 228 recorded a population of 535 living in 244 of its 553 total private dwellings, a -6.5% change from its 2011 population of 572. With a land area of 1,895.97 km2 (732.04 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.3/km2 (0.7/sq mi) in 2016.[4]
In the 2011 Census of Population, the RM of Lacadena No. 228 recorded a population of 572, a -6.7% change from its 2006 population of 613. With a land area of 1,896.01 km2 (732.05 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.3/km2 (0.8/sq mi) in 2011.[7]

Government
The RM of Lacadena No. 228 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the first Tuesday of every month.[3] The reeve of the RM is Bradley Sander while its administrator is Yvonne Nelson.[3] The RM's office is located in Kyle.[3]
