National Bank Limited
The National Bank Limited[1] (Bengali: ন্যাশনাল ব্যাংক লিমিটেড) is a private limited bank in Bangladesh.[2] Choudhury Moshtaq Ahmed is the present Managing Director of the bank.[3]

History
National Bank Limited is the first private sector bank fully owned by Bangladeshi nationals. The bank was opened on 28 March 1983 but the first branch at 48, Dilkusha Commercial Area, Dhaka started commercial operation on 23 March 1983. The second branch was opened on 11 May 1983 at Khatungonj, Chittagong. Currently NBL has carrying their business through its 200 branches & Agri Branches spread all over the country.[4]
Criticism
In 2015 the under construction office tower of the bank in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, caused a neighboring building and road to suffer a cave in. The bank was accused to not cooperating in the handling of the incident by the Mayor of Dhaka.[5][6][7][8]
