Mooney Flat, California

Mooney Flat (also, Mooney's Flat)[2] is an unincorporated community in Nevada County, California.[1] It lies at an elevation of 741 feet (226 m).[1]

The name honors Thomas Mooney, who began a trading post and hotel there in 1851.[2]
