Lego The Angry Birds Movie

Lego The Angry Birds Movie is a Lego theme based on Rovio Entertainment's video game series of the same name[1] and the same of the film, licensed from Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation.[2][3][4] The theme was first introduced in 2016[5][6][7][8] and later discontinued.

Premise

The main focus of the line is the group of birds (Bomb, Chuck, Matilda, Mighty Eagle, Red and Stella) whose eggs are stolen by the green piggies, who wish to eat them. The green piggies are led by the evil King Leonard Mudbeard, who is assisted by Biker Pig, Chef Pig, Foreman Pig, Pilot Pig, Pirate Pig and many Piggy.

Characters

  • Red:[9][10] He is a red bird and the protector of Bird Island. He used to have anger issues, which were cured after he attended anger management class in the first film.
  • Chuck:[9] He is the fastest citizen in Bird Island, but constantly gets a speeding ticket whenever he goes too fast.
  • Bomb:[9] He is a very gentle and kind bird. He is very sincere and genuine in his actions and is willing to put himself in conflict or danger to help out the other birds in his flock. When he gets angry, he explodes like a bomb.
  • Matilda:[9] She is an artist and also the anger management teacher on Bird Island.
  • Stella:[11] She is an eternally optimistic and intelligent pink bird. Thanks to her inquisitive nature, she has become one of the leading experts on Bird Island.
  • Mighty Eagle:[9] He is a very wise and powerful bird who is greatly respected by the birds.
  • Leonard:[12] His full name King Leonard Mudbeard, is the King of Piggy Island. He is the main antagonist in the first film and his main target is to steal the birds' eggs and eat them.

Sets

In 2016, The Lego Group announced a partnership with Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation.[13][14] It was officially announced by The Lego Group that the six sets[15][16][17][18][19] based on The Angry Birds Movie film would be released on 2 April 2016.[20][21] The six sets[22][23][24][25][26] being released were Piggy Car Escape (set number: 75821),[27][28] Piggy Plane Attack (set number: 75822),[27][28] Bird Island Egg Heist (set number: 75823),[27][28] Pig City Teardown (set number: 75824),[27][28][29] Piggy Pirate Ship (set number: 75825)[27][28][30] and King Pig's Castle (set number: 75826).[27][28][31] Each of the sets featured six core characters,[32] named Bomb, Chuck, Matilda, Mighty Eagle, Red and Stella. Also included the green piggies[33] are Biker Pig, Chef Pig, Foreman Pig, King Pig (Leonard), Leonard, Piggy, Pilot Pig and Pirate Pig for each of the sets. It's also designed primarily for children aged 6 to 14 years old. Later, it was announced that the theme has been discontinued and no longer available at LEGO Store or online shop. However, there is no new sets based on The Angry Birds Movie 2 film due to the poor sales of the six Lego The Angry Birds Movie sets.
