Lauda Air Italy

Lauda Air S.p.A. was an airline based in Milan, Italy. It was a sister company of the Austrian Lauda Air and operated long haul charter services to the Caribbean, South America, Africa, Maldives and Thailand, mainly out of Milan Malpensa Airport.[2] When it ceased operations, its aircraft fleet consisted of three Airbus A330-200.[2] Previously, its fleet had consisted of three Boeing 767-300ERs.

History

The airline was established in September 1990 and started operations in 1993. It was majority-owned by the Volante company, itself controlled by Niki Lauda, former Formula One world motor racing champion, while Gruppo Ventaglio owned the remaining shares. On 31 March 2003, Gruppo Ventaglio purchased Volante's share and integrated Lauda Air Italy with the airline Livingston under the parent company Livingston Aviation Group. Livingston had been established on 13 January 2003 and started operations in May 2003.[2]
