Hovsepavan
Hovsepavan (Armenian: Հովսեփավան) is a village de jure in the Khojaly District of Azerbaijan, de facto in the Askeran Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. The village has an ethnic Armenian-majority population, and had 128 inhabitants in 2005.[2] Hovsepavan is located 9 km from the regional center Askeran, and 15 km from the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert. Situated on the flatlands, the community occupies 116.59 hectares, 76.91 hectares of which are agricultural. The main occupation of the population is farming and animal husbandry.[3] Hovsepavan was founded during the period of the Karabakh movement in Nagorno-Karabakh.[4]
