Gillespie, Arizona
Gillespie is a populated place situated in Maricopa County, Arizona.[2] It is named after Frank Gillespie, a local rancher who built the nearby Gillespie Dam, as well as expanding the Enterprise Ranch. It has an estimated elevation of 1,033 feet (315 m) above sea level.[1]

Started in 1919, Gillespie was to be built on a 72,000 acre parcel of land about 40 miles northwest of Gila Bend, Arizona. The town was in include a hotel, sidewalks, water, lighting and other modern conveniences at a cost of $1,000,000.[3]
