Racing career
Lower formula
Vesti started his career in Danish Formula Ford. After finishing 4th in 2016 he moved on to compete full-time in both the German and Danish Formula 4 Championships. Despite missing two events of the Danish Championship the Danish driver managed to finish 2nd in his debut F4 season, helping his team Vesti Motorsport to win the team championship. In 2018 he would yet again compete in the German F4 Championship and make appearances in the 2018 Italian F4 Championship, where he won two out of the three races he competed in, and the European Formula 3 Championship.
Formula Regional European Championship
Prema Powerteam signed Vesti to compete in the inaugural Formula Regional European Championship. After 13 victories, with six of them being achieved back-to-back, and a total of 20 podium finishes Vesti won the championship in front of Ferrari Academy driver and teammate Enzo Fittipaldi. They, along with British driver Olli Caldwell helped Prema to win the team championship.
FIA Formula 3 Championship
In 2020 Vesti continued to drive for Prema, this time progressing to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, partnering Formula Renault Eurocup champion Oscar Piastri and American Logan Sargeant. The Dane's first win came at the second round of the year in Styria, a race, which was cut short due to bad weather conditions. Following that, Vesti would not score a podium until finishing in second at Spa-Francorchamps. Vesti had a strong end to the season however: two feature race victories at Monza and Mugello helped the Danish driver to reach fourth in the drivers' standings. His performances helped the team retain the teams' championship.
Vesti would sign for ART Grand Prix to race in Formula 3 alongside Russian Aleksandr Smolyar.
Formula One
On the 19th of January 2021,Vesti was announced as a Mercedes Junior Team driver.
