Dvorichanskyi National Nature Park

Dvorichanskyi National Park (Ukrainian: Дворічанський національний природний парк) is set on the border of the steppe and forest-steppe on the banks of the river Oskil, the south-east part of Ukraine. It was created according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine №1044/2009 “On the establishment of the national park “Dvorichansky” 11 December 2009. It is in Dvorichansky district Kharkiv region near the villages of Kamyanka, Petro-Ivanivka, Krasne and Mytrofanivka.[1] Park The area is 3131,2 hectares of state-own land.[2][3]

Topography

The territory has dissected topography, with many valleys and slopes.

Flora and Fauna

The limestone rock and soils support specialized types of plant communities known as chalk steppe. Chalk steppe include specific species as Artemisia nutans, Artemisia salsoloides, Artemisia hololeuca, Hyssopus cretaceus, Scrophularia cretacea, Linum usitatissimum, Androsace koso-poljanskii. 30% of the plant species are to endemic to the area. Near the villages of Kolodezne, Kamyanka and Kutkivka live colonies of marmots.[4]
