Annie Pijlman

Annie Groen-Pijlman (30 March 1925 — 2 October 2013) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater in the 1940s from Bontebok.[2] She won around 50 prizes.[3]

She started with competitive speed skating in the winter of 1939–40.[3] In the early 1940s she started winning prizes at main competitions, but didn't win them yet. On 12 January 1941 she finished third behind Lien van der Mei and Anie Heersema in Benedenknijpe.[2] On 2 February 1941 she won the second prize in Jubbega beaten by Lien van der Mei.[4] In Nijelamer she finished behind Fokje van der Velde in January 1942.[5]

A main result was finishing third at the 1946 Dutch National Kortebaan Speed Skating Championships. She became twice champion of the municipality Heerenveen and finished twice second at the Frisian championships. In January 1947 she won the competition in Heerenveen, ahead of Joke Hoekstra.[6] On 24 February 1948 she became champion of the municipality Heerenveen in Nijehorne.[7]

Pijlman married on 25 August 1948 with Machiel Groen from Steenwijk. They were honored by many kortebaan speed skaters who All came to her marriage.[8][3] They had a son and daughter. Her husband died in December 2010. Groen-Pijlman died on 2 October 2013, aged 88.[1]
