2021 Dundalk F.C. season

Dundalk enter the 2021 season as the FAI Cup holders, and the League of Ireland Cup holders from 2019 (because of the competition not running in 2020). It is Head Coach Filippo Giovagnoli first full season in charge. Shane Keegan is the First Team Manager, while Jim Magilton was named the club's new Sporting Director at the end of the 2020 season. The 2021 season is Dundalk's 13th consecutive season in the top tier of Irish football, their 86th in all, and their 95th in the League of Ireland.

Season summary

Having not been run in 2020, the President's Cup (the traditional season curtain-raiser) will be played on 12 March between League Champions Shamrock Rovers and FAI Cup holders Dundalk. The league season is currently scheduled to commence on 19 March 2021.[1]

For the second season in a row, the League of Ireland Cup is being deferred because of delays and restrictions caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
