Wuhan Yangtze International School

Wuhan Yangtze International School (WYIS; Chinese: 武汉长江国际学校[1]) is an English-language international school located within the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) in Wuhan, Hubei, China. WYIS uses an American curriculum and serves grades PreK-12.[2] It opened in 2003 as the South Lake International School. The school has expanded to over 200 students today, representing more than 35 countries and territories.

History

Wuhan Yangtze International School is a member of the International Schools Consortium (iSC). iSC is a division of the LDi family of companies.

  • WYIS first started out in 2003 as South Lake International School. It moved to San Jiao Hu Elementary School in the WEDZ in 2005, and it changed its name to its current one in 2007. In 2008, WYIS received full accreditation status and in 2011, received its official international school license from the national government of the PRC. Construction on its current campus started in 2012 and the school moved into the new campus in January 2014.
