Wings of Change Twister

The Wings of Change Twister is an Austrian single-place paraglider that was designed by Markus Gründhammer and produced by Wings of Change of Fulpmes, starting in 2003. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development

The Twister was designed as an intermediate glider. Gründhammer describes his design as "a perfect synthesis of aesthetics, performance and safety". The Twister Xi variant had a slightly reduced glider weight.[1][2][3]

The models are each named for their relative size.[1]

Variants

Twister S
Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 11.99 m (39.3 ft) span wing has a wing area of 24.96 m2 (268.7 sq ft), 56 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.7:1. The take-off weight range is 65 to 90 kg (143 to 198 lb). The glider model is Deutscher Hängegleiterverband e.V. (DHV) LTF/EN B certified.[1][2]
Twister M
Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 12.75 m (41.8 ft) span wing has a wing area of 27.95 m2 (300.9 sq ft), 56 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.7:1. The take-off weight range is 80 to 105 kg (176 to 231 lb). The glider model is DHV LTF/EN B certified.[1][2]
Twister L
Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 13.52 m (44.4 ft) span wing has a wing area of 31.40 m2 (338.0 sq ft), 56 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.7:1. The take-off weight range is 100 to 125 kg (220 to 276 lb). The glider model is DHV LTF/EN B certified.[1][2]
