Wójcice, Opole Voivodeship
Wójcice [vui̯ˈt͡ɕit͡sɛ] (German: Woitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Otmuchów, within Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech border.[1] It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) east of Otmuchów, 9 km (6 mi) west of Nysa, and 56 km (35 mi) south-west of the regional capital Opole. The village has a population of 860.

History
The region became German-speaking over the centuries by German Ostsiedlung, but the village of Woitz was mentioned as sill being Polish-speaking in 1495, when bishop of Breslau Johann Roth ordered the village population to learn German. [2] Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II).
