Vetriyur is located at 9.87°N 78.67°E.[1] The mean elevation is 75 metres.
Demographics
As of the 2009 census, the total population was 1411. 45% of the population are men and 55% are woman.[2]
Temples
Vetriyur has six temples:
- Angalaparameswari Amman Kovil
- Ayyanar Kovil
- Kali Kovil
- Pattavan Kovil
- Sivan Kovil
- Vinayakar Kovil
The Angalaparameswari Amman Kovil is the most famous temple. Every year, the temple holds a festival in which many attendees carry a palkudam (milk pot) in order to perform a puja for the deities.
Education
Bala Bharatha Primary School was established in 1946.[3] Government Higher Secondary School is a co-educational school in Vetriyur that was established in 1977.[4]
