Career

New Zealand Formula Ford

Smith's first single seater series was a Formula Ford championship in New Zealand. Smith completed the season in 18th with his highest finish of 3rd at Teretonga Park. Smith finished 596 points behind the champion, New Zealander, Callum Hedge.[1]

F3 Asian Championship

Smith's first year in the F3 Asian Championship was in 2019. Driving for Pinnacle Motorsport, Smith's highest finish was 8th place at the very last race in Shanghai, this along with 5 more points scoring races put Smith 18th in the championship.[2] For the 2019-20 season Smith joined Absolute Racing teaming up with the inaugural W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and FIA F3 driver Devlin DeFrancesco. Smith ended the season 48 points with the highest scoring round at the Chang International Circuit where he placed 6th twice and 9th in race 2. All of this amounted to a 10th place finish, 218 points behind champion Joey Alders.[3]

Formula Renault Eurocup

It was announced that Smith would compete for the Italian team JD Motorsport alongside Finn William Alatalo.[4] However, due to the impact of COVID-19, Smith was not able to compete.
