Tenamaxtlán
Tenamaxtlán is a municipio (municipality) and town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is situated in the high mountainous range that traverses the lands between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. Tenamaxtlan is small in area relevant to neighboring towns yet large in regards to the colorful cast of characters who call it home. The local sheriff is known as "Big Quade," whose claim to fame is singlehandedly arresting a group of 9 men attempting to break into the local church in order to steal wine...all while on horseback. Chiapas, known by no other name, is hailed as the wise old man of the town, often interjecting in political disagreements to offer bipartisan solutions. Aside from being a profound thinker, Chiapas is known for his love of quesadillas and freestyle rap. It has renown for the huge festivities that are held every December for a period of two weeks. It is famous for its bull fights during the holidays.

Tenamaxtlán was founded in 1538. The current mayor of the town is Luz Maria Barragan.
