"Swag It Out" is the debut single by American singer Zendaya, known for starring in the series Shake It Up. The song was self-released by Zendaya on May 30, 2011.

Composition and release
The song was composed by Zendaya. According to Zendaya, the song is about the band's self-esteem.[1] About the concept of the song Zendaya says: "To me, the concept is about loving yourself and life, being the best you can be and being the best at what you do in life, having confidence, and not letting others get you down. Everyone can Swag It Out! Swag is an attitude".
Critical reception
The website Hollywood Teenzine evaluated the song positively, calling it "positive, fun, young and awesome to dance to, the kind that makes you smile", ending by saying that the band would be a big gamble to the summer American. Sarie, the Black Celeb Kids said Zendaya demonstrated that the song can explore all options in addition to acting, singing and dancing as well, saying that the song is infectious. The website BSC Kids said "It is good to see that a star of the Disney is not falling on their own pictures" to distinguish the mixture of R&B with electronic dance, house and pop music with electropop rhythms by Zendaya in the song of the early artists of Disney whenever old who began their careers in the pop rock.[2] Have Priscilla Rodrigues was more to the fund and said the singer could be as large as the artists who sang in the band eventually.[3]
The Teen portal said: "Zendaya sings about Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, and Beyoncé in the song and we can clearly see in "Swag It Out" that she can become as large as they once were".
Music video
The video of the song was recorded on September 15, 2011 in Zendaya's hometown of Oakland, California.[4] During the recordings, Zendaya took it to donate part of the budget of the video to buy toys for needy children of the association Pastry!. The video was directed by Glenn A. Foster and edited by Zendaya and then the video was officially released on December 15, 2011 on Zendaya's YouTube channel. It shows Zendaya sleeping in class and dreaming of her dancing around Oakland.In the middle of the video, Zendaya is shown dancing in a dance studio with other dancers and strolling around Oakland. At the end, Zendaya is at a concert singing and then wakes up from her dream.
Synopsis
The video begins with Zendaya and other kids come into school where several people crowded the hallways and others walk into the classroom. Zendaya enters the room and sits at a desk, puts her headphones to listen to "Swag It Out" and eventually sleep. According to the beginning of the track, the singer appears in patio interacting with other college student and beginning to dance and influencing others to take risking dance steps. As the chorus arrives, several teens form a group to choreograph the song led by Zendaya, ranging from colorful scenes and others in black and white. The scenes are reversed with Zendaya walking down the street with a dog and dancing alone. In a new scenario, locating in studio classroom ballet, the singer appears joins a group rehearsing the choreography sweats and eventually go out alone walking the halls of the college through the cabinets until it enters in an elevator with friends of friends. In the last scene appears on top of a stage inside a small venue surrounded by the audience that attends singing and dancing along with two rappers, and applauded with cries of "Z", short for her name. Here, then, that Zendaya is agreed on the classroom for her colleague, returning to the first scene and showing that it was all just a dream.[5]
