South Minahasa Regency

South Minahasa Regency is a regency in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Its capital is Amurang. It covers an area of 1,456.46 km², and had a population of 195,553 at the 2010 Census; this had risen to 204,832 at the 2015 Intermediate Census, and the latest official estimate (as at 1 July 2019) is 210,400.[3] It was originally part of the Minahasa Regency until it was established as a separate regency on 25 February 2003.[4]

Amurang, the seat of the regency has a tropical rainforest climate (Af) with moderate rainfall from July to September and heavy rainfall in the remaining months.
