Shūji Satō

Shūji Satō (佐藤 秀司, Satō Shūji, born June 8, 1967) is a Japanese professional shogi player ranked 7-dan.[1] He is a former executive director of the Japan Shogi Association.

JSA director

Satō is a former member of the Japan Shogi Association's board of directors.[2] He was elected to be an executive director for a two-year term at the association's the 66th General Meeting in June 2015.[3]

  • 1990, October 1: 4-dan
  • 1994, October 11: 5-dan
  • 1999, July 9: 6-dan
  • 2007, December 10: 7-dan

Titles and other championships

Satō has yet to appear in a major title match, but he has won one non-major title championship.[5]
