Seremban City Council
Seremban City Council (Malay: Majlis Bandaraya Seremban, abbreviated MBS) is a local authority in Malaysia which administers Seremban, the capital of Negeri Sembilan, and the surrounding. This agency is under the Negeri Sembilan State Government.

Functions
MBS is responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The main headquarters is located at Persiaran Forest Heights 1, Jalan Seremban-Tampin in Seremban town.
Location
Seremban City Council covers the entirety of Seremban district. Clockwise from the north, it borders.
- Jelebu District Council (Majlis Daerah Jelebu);
- Kuala Pilah District Council (Majlis Daerah Kuala Pilah);
- Rembau District Council (Majlis Daerah Rembau);
- Port Dickson Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson); as well as
- Kajang Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Kajang) and Sepang Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Sepang) across the border in Selangor.
History
Seremban City Council was formed on 1 January 2020, following the merger of the Seremban Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Seremban) and Nilai Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Nilai), which administers Nilai town and the sub-urban districts of Seremban region. Mayor of Seremban City Council
From 1954, the Council was led by a president in the office yearly, occasionally sitting for more than a year. On 23 July 1965, the head of the Council was handed over to the current Menteri Besar. [3]

Following the Local Governments Act 1976 (Akta Kerajaan Tempatan 1976), the Council's head was referred to as Yang DiPertua. The sitting Menteri Besar headed the Council's trend was overturned in 1998 where the head of the Council was an independent individual. [4]
