The church was consecrated on 16 December 1978.[4] The church does not have a traditional altarpiece, but above the altar hangs a pendant called "cross symbol" made by visual artist and theologian Hein Heinsen. The church is also decorated with four large murals by the visual artist Bjørg Hausle Bondevik.[5]
