Roberto M. Rey Jr.
Roberto Miguel Rey Júnior (born October 1, 1961) is a Brazilian American politician and surgeon specializing in plastic surgery.[1] He was featured on the E! reality series Dr. 90210, and ran for a seat in Brazil's Chamber of Deputies for the state of São Paulo's Social Christian Party (PSC) in the 2014 2014 Brazilian general election, but was not elected.[2] In 2015, he became the 3rd Vice President of the National Ecological Party (PEN).

Biography
Roberto Miguel Rey Júnior was born in São Paulo, Brazil to engineer Roberto Miguel Rey, an American-born naturalized Brazilian[3] and Avelina Reisdörfer, a Brazilian of German descent.[4] The family lived in São Paulo until 1974, when 12-year-old Rey and his brother and two sisters relocated to the United States.
He became a member of the Screen Actors Guild in 1980 and has appeared in national television advertisements, most recently in a Carl's Jr. commercial in which he advises a chicken to undergo breast augmentation surgery. Rey was the medical consultant on the American film Se7en, and made a cameo appearance in the Bollywood movie, Americanizing Shelley. He is also an avid martial artist with black belts in Taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Career
Education
Roberto M. Rey Jr. earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University in Chemistry, a master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard[5] , and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Tufts University School of Medicine.[6] Rey completed a 3-year general surgery residency at Harbor UCLA, and a plastic & reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Tennessee-Memphis Health Science Center.[7] He subsequently undertook an aesthetic and breast reconstruction fellowship at the Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Surgeon and Television
He is licensed to practice medicine in the states of California and Florida, and served as a medical correspondent for The Insider and NBC4 news.
Rey has appeared on TV shows, including The View, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, and the topic of print articles published in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes Brazil. Rey had a weekly casebook article in Life and Style Magazine,[8] is a member of The Los Angeles Medical Association and American Medical Association, and is on staff at Cedars Sinai Hospital.
In 2004, Rey became a frontman of the reality show Dr. 90210, a program that showcases his and other surgeon's practices, the surgeries and patients, as well as his family life. Rey has performed plastic surgery on celebrity patients, one of which (John Travolta's niece's breast augmentation procedure) was featured in an episode of Dr. 90210.[9]
Dr. Mark L. Jewell, the president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, said: "Dr. Rey is a skilled surgeon, but his informal way with patients is inappropriate, even undignified, and the reality show gives viewers the impression that plastic surgery is a casual beauty treatment rather than a serious surgical procedure".[10]
Personal life
Rey is married to Quebec-born Hayley Rey (born August 24, 1974). They have 2 children: one daughter, singer, model Sydney, born in 2000 and one son, Robby, born in 2004. They live in Beverly Hills, California.[11] The Reys owned three Chihuahuas and a German Shepherd.[12]
