Róber Pier

Roberto "Róber" Suárez Pier (born 16 February 1995) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Levante UD.

In this Spanish name, the first or paternal surname is Suárez and the second or maternal family name is Pier.

Career

Born in Oleiros, A Coruña, Galicia,[2] Róber was a youth product of Deportivo de La Coruña. He made his debut as a senior with the reserves in 2012, representing the side in Tercera División.

Róber made his official debut for the first team on 2 December 2015, starting in a 2–1 away win against UE Llagostera, for the season's Copa del Rey.[3] He made his La Liga debut on 12 March 2016, coming on as a second-half substitute for Álex Bergantiños in a 0–3 away loss against Atlético Madrid.[4]

On 6 July 2016, Róber was loaned to Levante UD in Segunda División, for one year.[5] He scored his first professional goal the following 13 May, netting his team's second in a 2–1 home win against Girona FC.

On 2 August 2017, after achieving top tier promotion, Róber renewed with Dépor until 2020 and immediately returned to Levante on a one-year loan deal.[6] The following 7 July, his loan was extended for a further campaign.[7]

On 2 September 2019, Róber signed a permanent four-year contract with the Granotas.[8]
