The municipality covers an area of 10.34 square kilometres (3.99 sq mi), and has a population of 146 (as at 2 October 2006).
Prostiboř lies approximately 26 kilometres (16 mi) south-east of Tachov, 36 km (22 mi) west of Plzeň, and 119 km (74 mi) south-west of Prague.
The hamlets Kopec and Telice are administrative parts of Prostiboř.
