Ore Oru Gramathiley
Ore Oru Gramathile (transl. Once upon a time in a village) is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Jyothi Pandian. The film stars Lakshmi and Nizhalgal Ravi.[1] The film was banned for criticising caste based reservations. The Supreme Court of India later allowed its release.[2] The film won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. Lakshmi starred as a collector who manipulated her caste certificate to get a government job. Though controversial, her role was praised for the acting.
