Miss Teen USA 2018
Miss Teen USA 2018 was the 36th Miss Teen USA pageant. It was held on May 18, 2018 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff of Missouri crowned her successor Hailey Colborn of Kansas at the end of the event.[1]

It was the first time the pageant was held concurrently with its sister pageant Miss USA 2018, which was held on May 21, 2018.[2]

Historical significance
- Kansas wins competition for the second time.
- South Carolina earns the 1st runner-up position for the third time. The last time was placed in 2013.
- Colorado earns the 2nd runner-up position for the first time and it reaches the highest position since Hilary Cruz won Miss Teen USA 2007.
- Illinois earns the 3rd runner-up position for the third time and it reaches the highest position since 2010. This was last placed in 2005.
- North Carolina earns the 4th runner-up position for the first time.
- States that placed in semifinals the previous year were California, Maryland, Nevada, Utah and West Virginia.
- California placed for the sixth consecutive year.
- Nevada placed for the third consecutive year.
- Maryland, Utah and West Virginia placed for the second consecutive year.
- Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee last placed in 2016.
- Michigan last placed in 2014.
- Kansas last placed in 2013.
- Colorado last placed in 2011.
- Florida last placed in 2010.
- Texas breaks an ongoing streak of placements since 2014.
- Missouri and Vermont break an ongoing streak of placements since 2015.
Pageant
Selection of contestants
One delegate from the 50 states and the District of Columbia were selected in state pageants held from September 2017 to February 2018.
Preliminary round
Prior to the final competition, the delegates competed in the preliminary competition, which involves private interviews with the judges and a presentation show where they compete in athletic wear and evening gown. It was held on May 16 at the Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City. For the first time since 2009, the preliminary round was not broadcast.
Finals
During the final competition, the Top 15 finalists compete in athletic wear, evening gown and in a customized final question round, and the winner is decided by a panel of judges.
Broadcasting
The pageant was webcast on the pageant's Facebook and YouTube pages, as downloadable live events available on the Asian and American PlayStation Stores for PlayStation 4 consoles and on Xbox Live in 42 regions for the Xbox One line of consoles via the Facebook Video application, with support for 4K Ultra HD, HDR10 video[lower-alpha 1] and Dolby Atmos spatial audio. It was the first time since debuting in 2012 where the pageant was not broadcast on Xbox 360 consoles.
