Maria Ilnicka-Mądry

Maria Stanisława Ilnicka-Mądry (born 1 February 1946 in Huta Szklana) is a polish politician, university teacher of medical sciences and from 2018, chairman of the West Pomeranian Regional Assembly of the 6th term.

Early life

Maria Ilnicka-Mądry was born on 1 February 1946 in Huta Szklana.[1] She is an alumnus of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie High School in Szczecin.[2] She also graduated from medical sciences at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin and management in health care at University of Warsaw.[3] She obtained a PhD in medical sciences.[4] She specializes in internal medicine.[3]

Medical career

She has been a vice-president of the District Medical Chamber in Szczecin for 2 terms (1991–1999).[3][5] She was an academic teacher at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health at her alma mater (later transformed into the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin).[4]

In 1998 she has taken the position of the director of the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 PUM in Szczecin, which she managed until her retirement in 2014 (17 years).[6] On 4 December 2008 in Royal Castle in Warsaw she was awarded "Manager of the Year" in the public health service.[7] During her term as director, her the facility has never been in debt.[7]

Political career

On behalf of the Freedom Union, she was a councilor in the West Pomeranian Regional Assembly of the first term (1998–2002).[8] In the 2002 local elections, committee from which she has cadidated (Solidarity Electoral Action) did not get any seats. She obtained 3689 votes.[9]

In 2010, she unsuccessfully ran for a councilor in Szczecin on behalf of the committee of the city mayor Piotr Krzystek Szczecin for Generations.[10] In the 2014 local elections, she was the only councilor elected from the list of the Independent West Pomeranian election committee organized by Piotr Krzystek. She became a non-attached councilor.[4] In 2015, she became an advisor to Piotr Krzystek for the city's social policy.[6]

In 2018, she ran for a voivodeship councilor from the Nonpartisan Local Government Activists list.[11] She retained her mandate when the traveler Aleksander Doba resigned from his madate before his term began.[12] On 23 November 2018 she was elected as a chairman of the West Pomeranian Regional Assembly by the votes of all 30 councilors.[13]

She is an advisor of Szczecin city mayor Piotr Krzystek.[14] She is a member of the Social Council of the West Pomeranian Oncology Center in Szczecin.[15]
