Long Pocket State School opened on 26 July 1915 and closed on 14 February 9194.[3]
In the 2016 census Long Pocket had a population of 198 people.[1]

The Abergowrie-Long Pocket branch of the Queensland Country Women's Association meets at 1571 Abergowrie Road, Long Pocket.[4]
