3 – Daejeon, Sejong, Chungcheong
- 339 was originally assigned to Yeongi County, South Chungcheong. In 2012, the whole county and neighborhood area were consolidated to form Sejong City. 339 is now assigned to all Sejong territory including those were not belonging to Yeongi County.
5 – Gwangju, Jeolla
- In 1998 Yeosu City (550), Yeocheon City (555) and Yeocheon County (556) were consolidated to form the current Yeosu City, yet the three original zip codes are still in use.
6 – Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, Jeju
- Changwon City annexed Masan City (630, 631), and Jinhae City (645) in 2010. The five original zip codes are still in use.
- Jeju was transformed into a Special Self-governing Province in 2006. As a part of this administrative change, Jeju City (690) and Bukjeju County (695) were consolidated to form the current Jeju City; Seogwipo City (697) and Namjeju County (699) to form the current Seogwipo City. However, the four original zip codes are still in use.
