List of college athletic programs in Illinois
This is a list of college athletics programs in the U.S. state of Illinois.
NCAA
Division I
- Chicago State's men's soccer team competes as an independent and will join the Western Athletic Conference in 2021.
- Eastern Illinois's men's soccer team competes in the Summit League.
- Illinois State, Southern Illinois, and Western Illinois's football teams compete in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
- Although "SIUE" is the school's preferred athletic name, national sports media generally use "SIU–Edwardsville" or "Southern Illinois–Edwardsville".
- SIUE's men's soccer team competes in the Mid-American Conference.
- Although "UIC" is the school's preferred athletic name, national sports media generally use "Illinois–Chicago" in score listings and on first reference.

- The football teams of Olivet Nazarene, Roosevelt, St. Francis, Saint Xavier, and Trinity International all compete in the Mid-States Football Association.
