List of awards and nominations received by the Weeknd
Abel Tesfaye, known by his stage name the Weeknd, is a Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer. He rose to prominence following the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape House of Balloons, which was nominated for the Canadian Polaris Prize. After signing with Republic Records, he released his second studio album Beauty Behind the Madness to positive reviews, winning the Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2015. For the single "Earned It" from the soundtrack of Fifty Shades of Grey, he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Song and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. He won a second Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for Starboy in 2018.

Academy Awards
The Weeknd was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2016 for his song "Earned It" for the Fifty Shades of Grey: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, but lost to the British vocalist Sam Smith, who won for their Spectre theme song "Writing's on the Wall".
