List of UK Albums Chart number ones of the 2020s

The UK Albums Chart is a weekly record chart based on album sales from Friday to Thursday in the United Kingdom. The Official Charts Company (OCC) defines an "album" as being a type of music release that feature more than four tracks and last longer than 25 minutes;[1] sales of albums in the UK are recorded on behalf of the British music industry by the OCC and compiled weekly as the UK Albums Chart.[2]

The chart is based on both physical and digital album sales,[3] as well as audio streaming,[4] and each week's new number one is first announced every Friday on The Official Chart on BBC Radio 1, which is currently hosted by Scott Mills.[5] The album chart is published online by Radio 1 (Top 40),[6] in Music Week magazine (Top 75),[7] and on the OCC website (Top 100).[8] Lewis Capaldi was the first artist to top the albums chart in the 2020s with Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.

The following albums have all been number one in the United Kingdom during the 2020s.[8][6]

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift earned her fifth number one album Folklore. The album went on to become her longest reigning number one album so far, for three weeks. In December 2020, Swift subsequently earned her sixth number one album Evermore, which topped the charts for two non-consecutive weeks. This made her the first artist of the decade to have two separate albums to reach number one in the same calendar year—a feat last achieved by David Bowie in 2016.
Australian singer Kylie Minogue became the first female artist to earn a number-one album in five consecutive decades, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s with her eighth number one album Disco.
American singer Bruce Springsteen earned his twelfth number-one album Letter to You. This made him the first credited solo artist to earn a number one album in five consecutive decades: 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
British singer Dua Lipa earned her first number one album Future Nostalgia. The album topped the charts for four non-consecutive weeks, the longest number one album for a solo British female artist since Adele's album 25 in 2015, which topped the charts for 13 non-consecutive weeks.
The 2020 recipient of the Rising Star Award at the Brit Awards, Celeste debuted at number one in February 2021 with her debut album Not Your Muse. This made her the first British female artist in five years to have a number one debut album since Jess Glynne with I Cry When I Laugh (2015).
