The following is a list of teams who played in the Scottish Premier League at any time, from its formation in 1998 until its cessation in 2013. The league merged with the Scottish Football League to form the Scottish Professional Football League, with the Scottish Premiership becoming the top tier of the league system. Founder members are indicated in italics.
