The band, unusually formed of three soloists as opposed to a single lead, released their debut album in the latter half of 2009. The three members of the group Peri Aziz, Soner Türsoy and Ali Sönmez came together for this exciting and somewhat pioneering project. The members of the band, who like many other Cypriot ex-pats live in the UK, met in London and formed their own group.

My father, a Turkish Cypriot and a Muslim, came to this country in 1948 as a young man from Cyprus to seek work. He had served as a policeman during the 1940s, when Cyprus was a British colony. My mother arrived in 1952 to stay with her brother, who had settled in the UK after serving in the British forces during the Second World War.

Label boss Sav Remzi is a founder of the famous Nuphonic label, a Turkish Cypriot in the music biz since the late 80s via his jazz club, and yes you guessed it right the label name is based on the pronounciation of Turk by UK chaps.
