Laurie Pohutsky

Laurie Pohutsky (born April 28th, 1988) is an American Microbiologist and a politician from Michigan. Pohutsky is the Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 19th district.

Pohutsky grew up in Redford, Michigan.[1]

Education

In 2010, Pohutsky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.[2]

Career

Pohutsky worked in fields involving food safety, toxicology and health care. She is a microbiologist in Michigan.[3]

Pohutsky is a member of Michigan House of Representatives for District 19.[4][2][3]

During the 2020 Democratic primaries, she endorsed Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren for President of the United States in the 2020 presidential election.[5]

Pohutsky was narrowly reelected in the 2020 election.[6]

Personal life

Pohutsky is openly bisexual.[7]
