Krešimir Mikić
Krešimir Mikić (Croatian pronunciation: [krěʃimir mikiç]; born 17 April 1974) is a Croatian theatre and film actor. One of the most awarded actors in Croatian theatre and film history,[1] he is known for his roles in acclaimed feature films, including Zlatko in Sex, Drink and Bloodshed, Krešo in I Love You, Mirko in The Melon Route, and Don Fabijan in The Priest's Children.[2]

Career
A native of Osijek, Mikić graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb. Upon graduation, he was hired as an actor at the drama ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek.
Mikić rose to continental prominence for his lead role in the 2002 controversial feature Fine Dead Girls, starring Olga Pakalović and Nina Violić.[3] He later starred in a series of critically and commercially successful films, including Witnesses, The One Who Will Stay Unnoticed (both 2003), The Society of Jesus, Sex, Drink and Bloodshed, 100 Minutes of Glory (all 2004), I Love You (Volim te) (2005) and The Melon Route (2006).
From 2006, after winning the Golden Arena for Best Actor at the Pula Film Festival for his role in The Melon Route, to 2013 he focused most of his work on the stage, performing roles in the Zagreb Youth Theatre's productions of Naš grad, the title role in Tartuffe, Blago, S druge strane, Brat magarac, Veliki bijeli zec, Galeb, Vjetar, Mlinar and Velki meštar sviju hulja.[4] all lauded within critic circles.[5][2][6] Around that time, he starred notably in a string of award-winning independent short films and provided assistant work at the Academy of Dramatic Art.[7]
In 2013, he appearing as Don Fabijan in the record-breaking Vinko Brešan film The Priest's Children, starring with Nikša Butijer and Jadranka Đokić.
In 2014, he appeared in the Exit Theatre's original play Ispočetka, and performed the title roles in the Zagreb Youth Theatre's productions of Hamlet and Cristopher Columbus.[8]
In 2015, he left the Zagreb Youth Theatre to work in the drama ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, where he remains employed to this day as a drama champion.[9]
In 2019, he appeared as a leading man in two extremely successful film releases,[10][11] Posljednji Srbin u Hrvatskoj and Koja je ovo država, the former winning him his second Golden Arena for Best Actor and the latter gaining him a nomination for the Ekran Rose.[12]
His voice acting credits cover over thirty Croatian-language versions of animated films, including Woody in the Toy Story franchise, Donkey in the Croatian Shrek film series, Master Mantis in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Horton the Elephant in Horton Hears a Who!, Rango in Rango and Oscar in Shark Tale.[13][14][15][16]
Mikić is the recipient of numerous accolades, including two Golden Arenas for Best Actor, three Grand Prix Festival Awards, two Fabijan Šovagović Awards, four Ardalion Awards and the Reihan Demirdžić Award.[17]
At the Croatian Actor-Theatre Awards (the Croatian equivalent of the Tony Awards[18]) Mikić holds the runner-up spot for most awarded performer with five awards, behind only Doris Šarić-Kukuljica (who won six, respectively).[17][2][19]
