Krasnodon Raion
Krasnodon Raion (Ukrainian: Краснодонський район) is a raion (district) in Luhansk Oblast of eastern Ukraine. The administrative center of the district is the city of Krasnodon, which is incorporated separately as the city of oblast significance and does not belong to the raion. Population: 28,943 (2020 est.)[1] .

Since 2014, the raion has been controlled by forces of the Luhansk People's Republic.[2] In 2016, the Verkhovna Rada renamed it Sorokyne Raion (Ukrainian: Сорокинський район), implementing the law prohibiting names of Communist origin. The name is not recognized locally.
