Kerang railway station

Kerang railway station is a railway station on the Piangil line in Victoria, Australia, serving the town of Kerang.[1]

Kerang was once the junction station to the former rail lines to Koondrook and to Stony Crossing.

A number of sidings opposite the station were removed in 1991.[2]

Disused station Macorna is located between Kerang and Pyramid, while demolished station Lake Boga was located between Kerang and Swan Hill.

The platform at Kerang was reconstructed and resurfaced in January 2019.[3]

Platforms & services

Kerang has a single side platform, serviced by V/Line Swan Hill line services between Swan Hill and Southern Cross in both directions.[4]

Kerang is also served by V/Line BendigoSwan Hill/Mildura road coach services.[4][5]

Kerang train crash

On 5 June 2007, a fatal crash occurred between a train and a semi-trailer at a level crossing north of Kerang. Eleven people died, all of whom were passengers.
