Kachu Pukur is a census town in Habibpur CD Block in Malda Sadar subdivision of Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Demographics

As of 2011 Indian Census, Kachu Pukur had a total population of 5,752, of which 2,973 were males and 2,779 were females. Population within the age group of 0 to 6 years was 518. The total number of literates in Kachu Pukur was 4,451, which constituted 77.4% of the population with male literacy of 81.0% and female literacy of 73.6%. The effective literacy rate of 7+ population of Kachu Pukur was 85.0%, of which male literacy rate was 89.3% and female literacy rate was 80.6%. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes population was 1,458 and 158 respectively. Kachu Pukur had 1362 households in 2011.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[5] Kachu Pukur had a population of 5348. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kachu Pukur has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 64%.
