The station was a finalist for Radio and Records magazine's 2007 Industry Achievement Award for best Alternative Station for markets 100 and up. Other finalists include WKZQ-FM, WJSE, WBTZ, KQXR, and WSFM.[1]
History
The station debuted in 1957. It went through a slew of formats including Top 40 as KC105 KCIZ in the 1980s.
Modern rock is the current format of the station.
In 2020/2021, KXNA was sold as part of Rox Radio Group's acquisition of the Hog Radio Group properties including KFMD. The new owner of KXNA is Elizabeth Marquis.
