International School of Dongguan

International School of Dongguan (ISD; simplified Chinese: 东莞文盛国际学校; traditional Chinese: 東莞文盛國際學校; pinyin: Dōngguǎn Wénshèng Guójì Xuéxiào) is an international school in Nancheng District, Dongguan, Guangdong, China.[1] It serves levels Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12.[2]

International Schools Services (ISS) developed and currently manages the school, which opened on August 16, 2012.[3] It was the first school in Dongguan authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), which formally approved the establishment of the school in 2013.[1] It is open for non-Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan students.[4]

Campus

The 30,000 square metres (0.012 sq mi) or 8.5 acres (3.4 ha) campus includes a 12,000 square metres (130,000 sq ft) five storey building with a conference room and 56 classrooms. The fifth floor has the conference room and six classrooms while the remaining four floors have the other 50 classrooms.[3]

The school also has a cafeteria and athletic facilities. As of 2015 the cafeteria has a capacity of 300 students but is configured to seat 120. The athletic facilities include an 800-square-metre (8,600 sq ft) indoor basketball court as well as some outdoor basketball courts. The indoor court includes changing and shower facilities. The school also has a 300-metre (980 ft) running track with five lanes, a playground, tennis courts, and long jump pits.[3]
