Geography

Hindoria is located at 23.9°N 79.57°E / 23.9; 79.57.[1] It has an average elevation of 385 metres (1,263 feet). The peak of Bhondla is highest in Damoh district.

History

In the struggle for freedom from Brithishers, Hindoria kept pace with national devotions and under the able leaderships of Thakur Kishore Singh lodhi[2] of Hindoria, Raja Devi Singh of Singrampur, Pancham Singh of Karijog, Gangadhar Rao, Raghunath Rao, Mejban singh, Govind Rao, and some others fought against the British rule in its rebellion in 1857.

The Hindoria city is divided into 15 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. The Hindoria Nagar Panchayat has population of 16,001 of which 8,304 are males while 7,697 are females as per report released by Census India 2011.[3]

Thakur Pradyumna Singh[6] elected as MLA from Bada Malhera constituency in state assembly election 2018. He is known as "Munna Bhaia" in Hindoria.

Thakur Rahul Singh,[7] member of legislative assembly of Madhya Pradesh from the Damoh constituency. He defeated the former finance minister[8] of Madhya Pradesh.





Vikas Tamrakar

Vikas Kumar Tamrakar,[9] a student of Jageshwarnath HS School, Hindoria, Damoh, topped, scoring 484 out of the 500 marks (96.8 per cent) in the State Merit List of Class 10th in the year 2006.
