Henry Twombly

Henry Bancroft "Deac" Twombly (November 10, 1862 – ?) was a college football player and lawyer.[1] He invented quarterback signals.[2]

Yale University

Twombly was a prominent quarterback for the Yale Bulldogs football team of Yale University.[3][4][5] He helped lead Yale to a 21–0–1 record over three seasons.[6] Walter Camp was in the same backfield.[7]
