History
Formed in 1950, Betlemi competed in regional competitions of the Georgian Soviet league. The club showed their best result in the Cup during the first season in 1990 when they reached the 5th round.
In 2011/12 season Betlemi were promoted to Pirveli Liga for the first time, where they spent four seasons. In 2015/16 for a long period Betlemi appeared safe from the danger zone, but after picking up just one point in last five games they had to quit the league.[1]
A year prior to the relegation the whole Georgian football world was shocked to hear about sudden death of Betlemi's captain Archil Partenadze during the training session.[2]
In 2016 Betlemi successfully completed the season on top of the table, although stayed in the league for three more years. As in the earlier case, the club were relegated following poor results in the very last games.[3]
