Don DeWitte
Don DeWitte is a Republican member of the Illinois Senate for the 33rd district. He has served in this role since his appointment in September 2018.

The 33rd district includes all or parts of Batavia, Crystal Lake, East Dundee, Elgin, Gilberts, Lakewood, Pingree Grove, Sleepy Hollow, South Elgin, Wayne, Geneva, St. Charles, West Dundee, Hampshire, Huntley, Carpentersville, Lake in the Hills and Algonquin.[1]
Early life, education, career
Prior to his appointment to the Illinois State Senate, Don was the St. Charles Mayor from 2005 to 2013, and a St. Charles alderman from 1993 to 2015.[2] Don also served on the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Board representing Kane County for the past 5 years.
Don attended Elgin Community College and the University of Illinois at Springfield before beginning a four decades-long career in the building materials industry, serving in various positions with local and national manufacturers, primarily in kitchen design and sales.

Personal life
Don is married to his wife Diane, and together they have two children. The DeWittes are lifelong members of St. Patrick Church in St. Charles, and regularly support two local non-profits, Lazarus House in St. Charles and CASA Kane County.
