Background
After forming on December 21, 2010, in Sacramento, California, Death Grips recorded their first track, "Full Moon (Death Classic)".[1] On March 8, 2011, Death Grips released the song, along with a video and a free self-titled EP. The EP consists of 6 tracks, several of which were later renamed and released on their debut mixtape, Exmilitary.[2][3]
Following the release of Exmilitary on April 25, 2011, the EP was removed from the band's website. However, "Full Moon (Death Classic)" and "Face Melter (How To Do Impossible Things)" remained available for free for a short time. On April 27, 2011, "Full Moon (Death Classic)" was released as the band's debut single through iTunes.
